Jayland Walker - MY Opinion of the Matter

 Ok, I have watched the ENTIRE raw body cam & dash cam that has been released....... It is near an hour long.....

No offense but this is one of those asshat of the day award moments.......And ANYONE griping about an "unarmed black man" being assassinated by evil cops needs to STFU really. Let me explain MY OPINION as to why before some twit goes off without full disclosure!!!

1. Jayland ran from a legit traffic stop. Jayland obviously had a prior record and something to hide - the illegal gun he was in possession of - and who knows what else

2. DURING the high speed / lower speed chase he OBVIOUSLY fired out his window at the cops

Before I move on these 2 points alone deem him the asshat of the day! Precisely what outcome does ANYONE expect when the asshat uses an illegally possessed gun to open fire on the cops during a car chase where those random bullets could have injured innocent people including children??? If you shoot at the cops they WILL shoot back!!!!

3. If he had pulled over and kept his hands where the cops could see them he would still be alive NOW - it was his own bad choices that caused this entire drama to occur. 

 

4. Now, the sheer number of bullets that entered his body IS excessive - on that I agree 100% - but the cops had a reasonable fear for life (not their own, but for innocent community members because this asshat was randomly firing from a moving vehicle).

 

5. The fact that asshat left the gun in the car when he tried to run does NOT eliminate the threat. Cops had ZERO way of knowing he had left the gun when he exited the vehicle AND considering he had been firing said gun their NEED to eliminate the threat to community life was justified. 

 

MAYBE if we stop teaching black men that they are wrongful victims of the cops and start teaching them that IF they want to live to NOT fight with the cops, not shoot at the cops and not run from the cops - MANY will live to see another day. It is high time to lay blame precisely where it belongs in most of these cases - at the feet of the asshat who thought it was a good idea to fire a gun at the cops!!!

 

COMMON SENSE 101 - If you choose to fire a gun at the cops then you have chosen to accept that the cops are GONNA fire back and that you may get hit - likely WILL. 

 

Jayland is NOT a victim here!!! He made bad choices KNOWING what the outcome would be. Jayland CHOSE to drive away from a legit traffic stop. Jayland CHOSE to open fire from a moving vehicle. Jayland CHOSE to try to run when the vehicle finally stopped. Jayland had a reasonable knowledge of what happens to ANYONE OF ANY RACE when they behave this way!!!!

I would like an investigation as to why so many bullets entered his body when less would have been sufficient - however, I can see WHY the cops opened fire like they did. Jayland was a credible threat to the community. 

We say cops need to be trained better - well how about we teach people NOT to behave like Jayland did and we could reduce fatal police shooting by 99%!!!

I have examined THOUSANDS of hours of body cam / dash cam videos of these types of incidents in my studies of police shootings. I am not justifying the # of times he got shot by any means - but his own actions and choices caused this entire issue. 

It ain't hard folks it really ain't. EVERYONE knows tensions run high during a traffic stop. This is common knowledge and should be handled in a matter that does NOT provoke the cop!!! 

If you want to reduce police shootings by 100% follow these simple instructions...

1. When you see blue lights - PULL OVER and SHUT OFF THE ENGINE

2. Put your hands on the wheel where the cop can easily see them - do NOT be fumbling around for shit. Get your paperwork AFTER the cop comes to the window to say why they pulled you over

3. LISTEN to what the cop says because they DO state clearly WHY they pulled you over when they approach the window - do NOT argue with them about it - the time and place to argue the matter is in the courtroom NOT during the traffic stop

4. If you have a weapon - even a knife - in the vehicle TELL the cop and tell them where it is - so that when you reach to get your license, reg etc they do not assume you are going after the weapon!!!!

5. Accept the ticket, sign it and drive away ALIVE - fight the fight in the courtroom!!

Remember, the cops are human just like you and they have been dealing with asshats all day BEFORE they encounter YOU. They may have gotten their asses chewed at the beginning of shift meeting, they may have been having a really shitty day, they work all day in high temps, rain, snow, sleet or shine in full uniform (which can be life threatening to them for overheating)!!!! They may have had to chase down asshats on foot and are simply exhausted and like YOU just wanna get the traffic stop over so they can go get a coffee and relax for a few!!!!

But the one thing you should always remember - it is YOUR choice to make bad decisions during a traffic stop and those bad decisions WILL have a equally bad outcome!!! So, if you choose to make those bad decisions then you are choosing the consequences that come with those decisions and you are NOT a victim!!!!!

Learning that he was devastated at the loss of his fiance makes me wonder if this was suicide by cop. His ring on the seat with the weapon is definitely a statement.

Please don't be like Jayland. Make good choices during traffic stops and live to see another day!!!
