Ok, this post is a “rant” that I prefer not to post on
FB…..
This is specifically to Debbie Phillips, the gal who
claims she loved Joe the Horse….
First, where were you when Joe was suffering the night
Scott was busting ass trying to save him???? Where were you when Laura was
loading him up, taking him to her rescue and nursing him by hand every hour on
the hour???? Ah, that’s right you weren’t around!!!!
Second, Joe was in his forever home when Laura rescued
him. That was 100% clear once she spent weeks upon weeks of hand nursing him.
YOU made posts and demands wanting him but were also told that Joe was NOT
available for adoption. Yet, you kept pursuing it and when you were denied you
decided to call animal control on Laura. Yep, YOU did that out of spite because
you wanted Joe to exploit him for donations, which is what you accused Laura of
doing.
Third, in your long ass post about Joe, after he died,
I did not see a single emotion FOR Joe. Your post was all about YOU and
comparing yourself to a woman who gives 110% of herself to save horses from
abusive homes. Your post had little factual information and tons of false
accusations. Gotta love how someone like you thinks they can always do things
better than someone else. Not once in that post was it mentioned how Joe was
thriving at Laura’s rescue.
Fourth, the absolutely possessiveness in your post….. “Your
Joe”, FYI Joe did not, nor had he ever, belonged to you. Joe belonged to the
people, not you. Joe was an amazing success story and YES, Laura had every
right to “parade him” because the community rallied to save Joe and helped in
his recovery. You, on the other hand, are a spiteful, hateful bitch. You made
it all about YOU and what YOU lost when Joe never once belonged to you. I had
the pleasure of meeting Joe, even took some fly masks to Laura. When Scott made
his original post I tagged Laura in it but she had already been notified and
was on her way to him. How precisely did Joe belong to you alone hmmm????
Fifth, your post speaks oof things you claim to have
done but not once does it mention anything Laura did for Joe. You act like you single
handedly saved him when in reality, Laura was the one who did that. You didn’t
show up until Joe was in good health. The entire post as a poor pitiful me post
to exploit sympathy wrongfully. You accuse Laura of precisely what you are
doing. Tell me hun, how much money have you gained from your pity post huh?????
Your post also makes claims about how Joe died, claims
that are simply not true. YOU are the problem with society today and the “school
yard bully” situation on social media. Take a long, hard look in the mirror
before you want to attack Laura again girl. People like me, the quiet ones, support
her 110% and have been here for her in ways you can never imagine.

The law evaluates responsibility based on conditions and decisions, not who was present at a certain hour.
This claim is irrelevant and used to shift blame away from the actual issue.

Animal control responses are triggered by conditions, not personal grudges.
If there were legitimate safety or welfare concerns, reporting is legally protected conduct, not wrongdoing.
WRONG. Someone just has to ALLEGE there’s an issue and A/C will go out and do a welfare check. It was an OBVIOUS bogus report. No issues of what was being alleged where found.

Emotion is not a legal requirement facts matter.
What Debbie expressed or didn’t express emotionally does not negate the unsafe conditions or the resulting death.

ReplyDeleteEven if Laura provided hands-on care that does not eliminate the legal duties that come afterward:
Safe housing
Secure fencing
Compliance with animal-welfare laws
Preventing escapes
Maintaining a nonprofit legally (if claiming to be one)
None of this changes because someone worked hard early on.
And hard work does not eliminate accountability.

Raising safety or legal concerns is not bullying.
It is responsible advocacy, especially when animals and public safety are at stake.
Well first off I was there at golden hearts a few weeks after joes rescue which I had only heard about after he was rescued. My husband and I came out to volunteer and Laura asked me to be joes personal groomer to get him the extra love and attention he needed that she was unable to give bc of all the other animals . Second I was told I could not adopt him bc we would have to put him in a stables. I didn’t”pursue it”. I sponsored him so Laura would not have to pay for him or Justine we paid for all of his medical food and farrier third I made no false accusations I can prove everything I said and I was witness to the horrible things that happened I can testify in a court of law. I didn’t mention what she did for Joe bc after her incredible rescue which was awesome the care of Joe was with me and I happily did it And are you se.rious???? I make no money on Joe now or ever I’m confused as to what you are accusing me of??? I simply loved Joe and he was done wrong and of course you see it differently and I made no calls to animal control sounds like there are more people out there that know the truth. Be aware that I will contacting an attorney for ant slanderous remarks and if you want to do justice to joes memory maybe you should concentrate on what a miracle he was or how beautiful he was and I’m willing to sit down with you anytime and show you and tell you what I know but not on your witch hunt

DeleteSo your info is incorrect on Debbie Phillips. She never said nor posted she was going to adopt Joe, we all knew joe was the mascot for golden hearts. She did however Spencer him, spending on savage 300.00 a month for his food, meds, foot care and many many supplies for the ranch. This blows me away that this is happening on radio, a good journalist verifies information prior to making it public. You must not be z good journalist. Are you insinuating that she let him out ? If so I think you should check your story out more before making those kind of accusations. Debbie Phillips is an upstanding person with a family and grandkids and great grandkids . You really need to check your story out before going on radio. Scott was the start and of joe s recovery. Laura was the talent behind Joe's getting well and Debbie was the driving force behind his recovery.

ReplyDeleteDebbie is not the only person that sponsored or contributed time, money, energy, etc to these animals. I've personally done all of the above and then some for many years. The difference is, I'm not putting myself into the center of a tragic accident (Debbie did). I'm not making it about how I opened my wallet and walked around like I owned the place (Debbie did), what I paid for food, meds, equipment (Debbie did). I don't whine about what I washed, brushed, sprayed, scrubbed or pulled (Debbie did). But most importantly, I didn't place blame, publicly shame or trod on the grief of the ONE person who did facilitate all of those things (but again, Debbie did). Her irresponsible accusations besmirch Joe's legacy. It endangers future rescue efforts for all of the other desperate animals in the same or worse conditions. And it's just plain wrong. You both should do better.
