How Rescue's CREATE hoarding situations, then act like savior's

 

When a foster opens their doors to a rescue's animals, they also open themselves to be trashed by the same rescue. I have watched and what I see disgusts me. Not all rescues behave this way, in this instance I am speaking of one in particular.

 

Rescues will place MANY animals with a foster, especially in California where there are way too many babies and not near enough fosters.  I find myself in that position right now.

I took in 2 kittens found on the streets of Barstow, the boys are still with me and do need homes. I was asked to take in a pregnant mama who then had 4 kittens. Shortly after that I took in a litter of 6 bottle babies that were tossed away in the trash! I did find a rescue to back them, and the 6 dogs that were dumped on me. 

However, that rescue, knowing how many babies I already had, brought a mama with 7 kittens to me and then brought 4  more juveniles to me.

The rescue has BARELY provided anything for all these animals that are under their care. I have been forced to beg from friends and online for needed supplies, while I listen to the rescue make promises that NEVER come to happen. 

So, now I have tons of kittens that need spayed / neutered and 1 dog that needs blood work & an xray. The rescue has made ZERO effort to set those appointments and I cannot because the vet visits must be approved by the rescue!!!

The rescue promised help to feed and water the 6 dogs that were dumped on me because I am physically disabled and the dogs are spaced out over the 10 acres making it very difficult for me to tend to their daily needs. This has also NOT happened. No matter how many times I beg and explain my feet are literally split open, no matter how many promises they make it NEVER happens.

I did not ask for these dogs to be dumped on me, they didn't ask for it either. I was told that mama + 7 and the 4 juveniles would be temporary, but after they were left, was told there are no other fosters available. What am I supposed to do to the innocent kitties who did not ask to be put in this position? 

I have plenty of dry food, but no more wet food and only 2 cans of replacement milk left. The rescue KNOWS the food situation, makes me promises that are never fulfilled. I was told they had almost 100 cases of pate and the same amount in dry dog food. None of which has materialized.

I begged for a tube feeding kit to save the preemies..... I ended up ordering several from Amazon before I finally got the right size, unfortunately it wasn't soon enough to save any of them.

I asked for liver to mix with their food because mama + 7 and the juveniles are ALL emaciated. Had to buy that from my own funds. I have asked for dewormer and told it has been ordered, but it never materializes...... There is ZERO chance of putting weight on an emaciated cat without deworming it.

They did bring me a box of 24 cans of pate and 1 pack of pee pads 3 days ago. With so many kitties that pack of wet food is GONE and I do not have anymore to spare. I will NOT dip into JellyBean's because I have done that already and it has NOT been replaced. JB has few teeth left so he needs his wet food and I cannot take away from him to feed kittens that are the rescues responsibility.

I will be cleaning up one of the campers so that I can separate the boys from the girls until I can figure out what the hell to do since the rescue has not lived up to promises. I should have known something was wrong when they begged me to do a phone payment to a vet for a dog with parvo....... $100 I paid on the promise it would be repaid within 24 hours..... I am still waiting for that. I was told he had it when he dropped the wet food off but he never gave it to me. I asked him to send it paypal but that hasn't happened yet either. I have sent a Paypal request for it. He said to send it someplace else because it was coming out of the rescue..... Hmmm for his wife's personal dog???????

I am so disgusted right now it isn't funny. I am stuck with 6 dogs I can barely care for and a houseful of teeny kittens that will be eating beans and rice mixed with dry food because I have no wet food for them. I spent a portion of my food stamps on liver to mix with their food but that puts ME short for my own groceries because I only get $115 a month on food stamps!!!

So, rescues push fosters beyond their means and then swoop in to "save" the poor animals that are being hoarded...... Not this time..... This rescue is NOT going to get away with trying that with me. 

I am not releasing the name of the rescue involved, YET. I want to give them time to do the right thing first. Even though they have had plenty of time to do so, I am extending a little more time. How much more will depend on what happens over the next few days. 

 

 

But, I do know this, they will NOT claim to save these cats they dropped on me from a hoarding situation because I have the text messages backing up everything. I also have lots of pix of the kitties when they arrived and during my care of them.

I will be adding to this. As of right now I was told he will call me..... For what more empty promises??? 

*** Update, still have not been repaid for the $100. I texted VCA and provided a formal request for a refund. Since they have not responded I will be calling them tomorrow. I have also filed a complaint with my debit card and will be calling them tomorrow as well.

I cannot locate one of the juveniles.... When it was brought in, VERY spicy and it jumped from the box and simply disappeared. I think it found a way outside, not sure but I will keep looking for it. 

The mama and 7 kittens are listed on their website as "medical - foster" the name they gave me for her is NOT the same name that is on the website..... There is nothing medically wrong with her or the kittens (not visibly anyways) beyond the fact they were ALL emaciated when they arrived and there are 3 different ages of kittens! What it seems like is they took in neonates (bottle babes) and did not want to fool with them so they stuck them with the nursing mama.

I have ordered the dewormer and a friend ordered some wet food and a couple bags of dog food that will arrive Wednesday.Thank you!

The rescue straight up told me they did not have the TIME or resources to fool with trying to get food for the animals under their care!
