Ok, more thoughts on current events….
Let me just say that this post will upset some people… SO
let’s get that outta the way right now….
Do not get me wrong, I am all for
reforming the police system we currently have. I firmly believe there is
injustice and corruption galore. However, there are a few key things I have
noticed….. and I am wondering if anyone else has noticed them as well…
This article will be about how I
have seen the Black Lives Matter movement as an outsider looking in so to speak
– it is NOT to say anything bad or diminish their cause but just to make a few
points that have me a bit confused….
I date a black man and even he is
confused by these things, so I decided to make this post hoping to find HONEST
answers and non racist feedback. I make this post in a non-racist manner –
although I will be discussing the movement – this truly is NOT about skin
color. And as you read the ENTIRE post it is obvious this post is not about
race – but events….
I am gonna go back to the Michael
Brown incident and start from there…. I shall explain things as I have understood
them…. When I say this I mean from what the news has said and my own research….
Obviously since I was not present for any of these I am making NO conclusions
unless I specifically state them – so please do not put words in my mouth that
ain’t meant to be there ok?
I have watched for years the videos
of both blacks and whites, and all other races being chased down by cops on
YouTube videos…. I watch so many documentaries I am like a walking library….
Now, as I understand things, the
Black Lives Matter movement gained momentum when Michael Brown was shot.
However, according to the documentaries – the entire movement is based on a
lie. The hands up don’t shoot – I will explain, so please don’t blow a gasket
ok.
As the news first portrayed it –
the officer supposedly shot him in the back, he was unarmed and totally
innocent…. The whole country cried over the death of an unarmed young man being
shot down while crying hands up don’t shoot.
Then the forensics came back,
witness testimony came in and the documentary came out….
Michael Brown had just done a
strong arm robbery stealing some of those little cigars, was walking in the
middle of the street and had an altercation with the officer while the officer
was still inside of his vehicle…. Forensics proved Michael was NOT shot in the
back, but all shots were to his front as he charged at the officer – according to
the documentary (not to me – this is what he documentary claims)
Also, the documentary claims never
once did Michael Brown say – hands up don’t shoot. That was his buddy telling a
lie who later recanted that statement.
However, I can stand with the
movement on the hands up don’t shoot because I have seen MANY videos where
people cry that out and get shot anyways. People of all races are being killed
and it sickens me.
What I have an issue with on the
movement is this – it seems like every person they put on a pedestal has a
lengthy criminal record. The young lady in Louisville who recently was shot in
her own apartment is an exception, but for the most part the ones being held as
martyr’s by the movement are not of good character.
Michael Brown for example. A kid,
18 years old and already committing strong arm robbery! Yet, because he was
unarmed and shot – he has been put on a pedestal as if we should look up to
him.
Freddie Grey, a young man who was
killed by police – again had a criminal history. (I do not know enough about
his history to make further remarks)
Eric Garner – choke hold by cops
killed him – again do not know enough about his history to make further
remarks.
There have been so many of both
races, but I am only addressing a handful here that are black since I am asking
things about the movement. Naming whites who have been killed wrongfully by
cops would have no bearing on the point I am trying to make on why I am
seriously confused.
George Floyd – definitely murdered
by those cops. No question about that. Wrongfully killed and I stand firm on
that belief – ok. We are in agreement he needs justice!!!
However, George had a criminal
record one charge was holding a gun to a pregnant woman while she was robbed.
He did have narcotics in his system at the time of death. This by no means
justifies what happened, nothing justifies it. All I am saying is that George
was not an angel.
They did not prove he even knew
that the bill was fake…. He had left the store and other people had come and
gone I mean how did they even know that particular bill came from George???
Most places test it before they even give you change right???
What I am asking is why the
movement is putting some hard core criminals on a pedestal as if they were
these great people who should be revered. It is absolutely tragic that they
lost their lives in such a manner without a doubt.
But, wouldn’t it be better for the
movement to uphold someone like the young lady from Louisville – Breonna Taylor?
A true role model that kids could strive to be like. Instead, kids see the role
models the movement upholds and they want to be like them…
There are mixed messages within the
movement and that is why I am confused.
It also seems like black on black
crime is totally ignored by the movement. Since David Dorn was shot by a looter
in St Louis I have not heard one peep from the movement about his death. Now he
would be a great role model for the kids. But I get the feeling that because he
was killed by a black man then his death doesn’t fit the public narrative.
But David Dorn’s life mattered too.
What I also see is the movement
pushing to erase history. Removing those monuments doesn’t change what
happened. If you ignore history you are doomed to repeat it. I am not sure how
I feel about all that though. I do understand that having them in your face
brings hard feelings. They should not be destroyed though, maybe put in a museum
where we can teach the children to do better.
Look at Stalin, he did the same
thing. Look how that worked out….
Back to the topic though….. The
movement has legitimate issues – but I think we need to stand together because
statistics prove that more whites die at the hands of cops than blacks do.
However, the death of blacks seems to get more national attention.
It still baffles me that a movement
as large as this must base their role models on criminals. Our kids see that we
put these people on pedestals and they want to grow up and be like them. This
is a vicious cycle that begets violence and death. These kids see that George
Floyd committed crimes ok, they say, Hey I am gonna go do this or that, and
then bam the kid is the next one on the news being shot or killed by a cop.
WE have to stop this vicious cycle
and the only way to do this is to give kids good role models to look up to.
Someone getting killed by a cop – for whatever reason – is NOT how anyone wants
their child to end up like.
The riots and looting also teach
the kids very bad things. With all the video now it’s not like anyone is going
to truly get away with that. Looting is stealing and when an adult does this
and a child sees it what have you taught that child?????
Saying it’s justified because of
cops wrongfully killing someone – Target didn’t kill George the cops did.
Breaking windows, looting jewelry stores… do you see what this is teaching the
children????
Yes, it got the world’s attention.
Yes, things will be changed.
But with the issues facing the
black community NOW – can the kids truly afford to continue to be taught that
the cycle of violence is never ending????
WE can do better people!!!!
WE need to teach these kids LOVE
instead of hate!!!
WE need to be better role models
for them!!!
Haven’t we learned the Do as I say
and not as I do approach is NOT working????
I will be the first to step up and
donate time and use of my land to assist in teaching kids about nature out
here, how things were done way back when….(Will make a small list below) ….
The only way we can overcome this
is to begin to love each other, and that means giving TIME to each other. We
must learn about each other, the world we live in and how to take care of it
and each other with LOVE.
The Bible said it best and this is
a great place to start John 3:16 – we should be more like Jesus.
What I can offer –
1.
How to home preserve food
2.
How to foster kittens and other small animals
3.
How to live off grid the old fashioned way
4.
How to set up a small solar system
5.
How to compost and repurpose lots of things
6.
How to design HTML websites
7.
How to use IRC chat
8.
Management skills
Each and every one of us has
something positive to teach the younger generation. It is high time we start
doing that instead of teaching them the hatred and violence that has been going
on for decades.
The definition of insanity is doing
the same thing over and over but expecting a different result. Haven’t you been
insane long enough listening to Democrats blow smoke up your asses for decades
and never getting anything from them except misery????
It is time for a change. It is time
to get the career politicians OUT and put in people who will truly do something
for you.
Do not allow them to force us to
vote by mail….. We will all lose if that happens….
