Difference between a SUB and a SLAVE in a nutshell

Earlier today I met a Dom in the chat here. We had an interesting conversation about the COMMITMENT of a SLAVE. Now I am not talking about a submissive because there IS a very distinct difference. I listened to him explain it and had I not known what he was describing I would have been lost.

However, I think I can sum up the commitment of a SLAVE in an easier package.

I am not sure how many here believe in God, but I do. I have an extensive background in theology. In a personal relationship with God you ARE in essence HIS slave. This meaning when you accept Christ then you give Him your mind, body and soul. You put ALL trust in Him to provide for you and care for you in the smallest of life's little details. When you live the religion and you want forgiveness for a sin, you pray. When you have a need that you cannot handle yourself then you pray. According to the good book He is in COMPLETE control of your life. Those who live it daily will tell you they do NOTHING without first praying to God about it. They do not eat until they say grace, they pray a blessing for newborns and pray a farewell at funerals. They begin the day in prayer and PRAY CEASINGLY - (Thessaloinians 2   Chapter 5 I think without actually looking it up - know it's Thess for sure and the last chapter) God expects you to be in constant communication with him, in this manner He rules your life - mind, body and soul. You are His slave.

NOW, consider this. A master accepts a slave. He is then assuming all of the above responsibilities for that slave. It is the Master the slave will make requests of. It is the Master who will feed, clothe and shlter the slave. It is the Master to whom the slave will cry out for forgivenness of an error. It is the Master who will make the slave understand their body is not their own. A slave must ask the Master for EVERYTHING - even the very air they breathe in some cases. It is the Master who teaches the slave to be humble, just as God teaches His. It is the Master's discretion whether to grant a request of his slave, such as it is with God. God answers ALL prayers, we just may not realize it until much later. The Master does the same.

Now do not misunderstand, I am not putting the Master on the same level as God, far from it. I am pointing out the specific guidelines of EACH relationship - ours with God  vs  a slave with their Master.

I have been a quiet member of this site for at least ten years now. I have hung in the chat rooms and even participated in a D/s online relationship and am currently in one. I  am the sub - not because of my user name - but by choice. In real life I am a Dom. I have known all of my life that I am a sexual creature and desired to learn everything I can about it. I KNEW at the age of 14 that I wanted not to SUB but to SLAVE. My relationship with God has well prepared me for this. You see, in the Bible - I want to say 1 or 2 Timothy, it states a woman's place. She is to be SUBDUED to her husband - AND husband in the Bible is also defined as MASTER. In a D/s relationship - s being SLAVE we are expected this type of commitment.

I see these play acting chats half hearted efforts and I laugh myself silly because it is painfully obvious who is just chatting it up and who is actually living it. A SLAVE commitment is as old as the Bible itself. Even MARY the mother of JESUS was a SLAVE - espoused to Joseph. Meaning her family SOLD her to Joseph for a wife. Take into account Rachel and Leah in the Old Testament - their husband worked 7 years for Rachel's hand in marriage - thus he BOUGHT her, but was tricked into marrying Leah instead. He worked another 7 years for Rachel's hand and took them both to wife.

A Master is  doing the same thing for a SLAVE. He has bought them, maybe not with cash or goods but nonetheless they belong to him. They are no longer permitted freewill. EVERYTHING must be approved by the Master. Just as a serious relationship with God requires. So ask yourself this when you are trying to figure out which you are - do YOU submit ALL to your Master or do you retain some control?

A sub is the one who retains some control, not the slave. The slave has presented himself / herself to their Master to do with as the Master  wishes.

  1. All slaves are submissives, but all submissives are not necessarily slaves. In the purist historical sense slavery was not voluntary, except to work off debt (indenture), but then it wasn't permanent, as it ended when the debt did.
